Usui Reiki Ryoho.
The founder, Mikao Usui.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also
promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on
the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what
causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force” is low, then we are more likely
to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being
happy and healthy.
Reiki is safe, gentle, non-invasive. Recipients report their experience of Reiki includes increased energy, reduction of pain, deep relaxation and a general feeling of well being.
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feeling of peace, security, and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

What to expect from a Reiki Session
A typical Reiki session will start off with a brief conversation.
• The client tells the practitioner why he or she is there, what is going
on in his/her life, and what he or she is hoping to get out of the
session(s).
• The practitioner gets a feeling of the client’s energy.
• This gives the practitioner and client a chance to build a rapport. Which
will allow the client to let go and open up more to the energies during the
session. The more the client is able let go, the more benefit they will
receive from the session(s).
The next step is to have the client (fully clothed) lay down on his or
her back on the massage table. The practitioner then generally starts at the
head and works down toward the feet, stopping at the knees or possibly the
ankles. There are general hand positions that the majority of practitioners
follow, at least to some degree. These hand positions attempt to cover all
the seven main chakras and all the major organs.
Often people describe their experience by saying they felt as if they are
floating during the session, or they were being enveloped by or wrapped in a
warm, loving, nurturing light that flowed throughout their being.
Most sessions are somewhere between 60 to 90 minutes, Reiki is cumulative
and even people who don't notice much the first time usually have
progressively deeper experiences if they continue. Four sessions is a
traditional recommendation and gives you time to evaluate what benefits you
are receiving.
